News Capsule: Soybean Production in Brazil
★ The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove), in its first report for the 2025/26 season, has estimated soybean production at 178.5 million tonnes, an increase of 3.9% compared to 2024/25. The organization also revised its previous 2024/25 estimate upward by 1.5 million tonnes to 171.8 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the government agency CONAB has projected 2025/26 soybean production at 177.6 million tonnes.
★ According to Abiove, Brazil is expected to export 111 million tonnes of soybeans in 2025/26, up 1.4% from the previous season. Soybean crushing is forecast at 60.5 million tonnes in 2026, a 3.4% increase from 2025.
★ Soymeal exports in 2026 are projected at 24.6 million tonnes, up 4.2%, while soymeal production is estimated at 46.6 million tonnes, reflecting a 3.3% rise.
★ Soybean oil production is expected to grow 3.8% to 12.15 million tonnes, while domestic consumption is projected to rise 4.8% to 11 million tonnes.
★ The increase in domestic consumption is attributed to the biodiesel blending mandate being raised from B14 to B15.
