News Capsule: State-wise report on damage to Kharif crops: A major satellite company

★ In Punjab, paddy was sown on 95% of the total area, with 2 lakh hectares affected by heavy rains and floods. Paddy sowing was carried out over 3.15 million hectares.
★ The most affected districts were Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, and Kapurthala.
★ In Maharashtra, heavy rainfall was recorded in Nanded, Solapur, Yavatmal, Ahmednagar, and Beed, causing damage to soybean, pigeon pea (tur), cotton, urad, and moong crops.
★ In Uttar Pradesh, the highest rainfall was recorded in Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Jalaun, and Farrukhabad, damaging urad and paddy crops.
★ In Haryana, the impact was seen in Hisar and Bhiwani, where paddy and cotton were sown.
★ In Rajasthan, the highest rainfall was reported in the Nagaur region, which is a major producer of moong, soybean, bajra, jowar, and groundnut.
