New Delhi. Knowledgeable sources say that there is no possibility of recession in the current prices of Isabgol. Because due to high production, the prices are running at their lowest level. In the coming days, with the increase in demand, prices will also improve.

High production

The production of Isabgol has been high in the country for the second year as well. According to the information received, in the year 2022, the production of Isabgol in the country was 20/22 lakh bags, which increased to 30/32 lakh bags in 2023. In the year 2024, the production has reached the level of 38/40 lakh bags (each bag 70 kg).

No recession now

Market sources believe that there is no possibility of recession in the current prices of Isabgol. Because due to most of the goods coming to the markets, the arrival in the markets has been very low at present. In Gujarat's major market Unjha, the arrival has remained at 4 thousand bags whereas in Rajasthan's Nagaur, Merta, Naukha market, the arrival has started becoming 800/1000 bags. Currently, the price of Isabgol in the markets of producing centers is being quoted at the minimum level of 120/135 rupees per kg. It is worth mentioning that in July last year, the price was being quoted at 250/260 rupees. Currently the export demand is low but there is a possibility of export demand emerging in August due to which the prices will improve in the coming days.
