New Delhi. The Central Government has notified the policy conditions for export of sesame seeds to America and this new rule will be considered effective from 16 November 2024.

A notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), a subordinate body of the Union Ministry of Commerce,

said that the Indian Oilseeds and Products Export Promotion Council has been authorized to issue export certificate in this regard and accordingly policy conditions have been notified or prescribed for export shipment of sesame seeds to America.

Apart from this, under another information, the Directorate General has also notified the process of submitting application for refund of duties and taxes on exported products on an annual basis.

It is worth noting that the scheme of refund of duty and tax (roadtape) on exported products is beneficial for the exporters because the duty or tax that the exporters have to pay in relation to export is refunded to them.

This also includes the duty/tax levied at the time of manufacturing and distribution-marketing of the products. If the exporter is not refunded the duty/tax under any system (method) by the Central Government,

State Government or local administration, then they can claim it under the Roadtap Scheme. The application deadline for this has been fixed as 31 March 2025. Exporters who do not apply within this period will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.
