Small Cardamom – No Fear of Decline
New Delhi. Market experts say there is little chance of a downturn in small cardamom prices at current levels. With the season nearing its end, arrivals at auction centers are expected to decline in the coming days, and quality is also likely to turn lighter. The next new crop is expected only in July–August. Therefore, prices of small cardamom are likely to remain firm in the near term.
At the Cardamom Planters Association auction held today at Santhanpara, arrivals were reported at 21,251 kg, of which 20,628 kg was traded. The auction recorded a maximum price of ₹2,989 per kg and an average price of ₹2,445.50 per kg. In the Delhi market, prices remained firm at previous levels. On the MCX as well, the January futures contract closed higher by ₹15.
