देश में कुल एथनोल उत्पादन में से अनाजों द्वारा निर्मित एथनोल की हिस्सेदारी बढ़ी
★ 2023-24 में अनाजों द्वारा 50% 2022-23 में 27 2021-22 में 16 2020-21 में 13 2015-20 में 9% 18-19 5% हुआ एथनोल उत्पादन।
★ चीनी, गन्ना रस और मोलासिस से बने एथनोल की हिस्सेदारी घटी।
★ नवम्बर से शुरू हुए सीजन में अब तक चीनी मिलों व डिस्टिलरी द्वारा जून 2023 तक ऑइल कंपनियों को 401 करोड़ लीटर एथनोल दिया गया जिसमें से 211 करोड़ लीटर यानी 52.7% एथनोल निर्माण मक्का व टूटे अनाज से किया गया। 190 करोड़ लीटर एथनोल का निर्माण चीनी कंपनियों द्वारा किया गया।
★ अनाज में एथनोल का उत्पादन मुख्यतः मक्का द्वारा किया गया बाकी बची मात्रा टूटे या खराब चावल से किया गया।
★ एथनोल की बढती डिमांड से मक्का की कीमतों में लम्बे समय से तेजी का माहौल।
★ बिहार में अच्छी फसल आने के बावजूद मक्का की खरीद बड़ी मात्रा में की गयी जिसके फलस्वरूप सीजन के दौरान भी कीमतों में बना तेजी का माहौल।
★ आई ग्रेन इंडिया का मानना है कि जब तक चीनी गन्ना रस द्वारा एथनोल उत्पादन शुरू नहीं किया जाता तब तक मक्का की कीमतों में तेजी बनी रह सकती है।

The share of ethanol produced from grains in the total ethanol production in the country increased
★ Ethanol production from grains increased to 50% in 2023-24 27 in 2022-23 16 in 2021-22 13 in 2020-21 9% in 2015-20 18-19 5%.
★ The share of ethanol produced from sugar, sugarcane juice and molasses decreased.
★ In the season starting from November, till June 2023, 401 crore liters of ethanol was supplied to oil companies by sugar mills and distilleries, out of which 211 crore liters i.e. 52.7% ethanol was produced from maize and broken grains. 190 crore liters of ethanol was produced by sugar companies.
★ Ethanol in grains was produced mainly from maize and the remaining quantity was produced from broken or spoiled rice.
★ Due to the increasing demand for ethanol, the prices of maize have been rising for a long time.
★ Despite a good harvest in Bihar, maize was purchased in large quantities, which resulted in a rising trend in prices even during the season.
★ I Grain India believes that until ethanol production from sugar cane juice is started, the prices of maize may remain rising.
