There was a difference in the price of Kabuli chana during the implementation and removal of stock limit.

Indore. On 20 June 2024, the Central Government had implemented the order of storage limit on Kabuli chana along with Tuvar and Desi chana.
At that time its price was running at Rs 9500 at the lowest and Rs 10,400 per quintal in Indore and Rs 8000 and Rs 9900 per quintal respectively in Dewas.
The spot price of 40/42 count in container was Rs 12,300 per quintal in Indore and 44/46 count was Rs 12,100 per quintal.
Keeping in mind the strong demand and various arguments of traders and exporters, the government withdrew the order of storage limit on Kabuli chana on 11 July 2024. With this, its price improved to Rs 9000 on the lower side and Rs 10,700 per quintal on the upper side in Indore and Rs 9000 on the lower side and Rs 11,500 per quintal on the higher side in Dewas.
The spot price of 40/42 count Kabuli chana in container in Indore reached Rs 13,300 and Rs 13,100 per quintal for 44/46 count.
On 30 July 2024, the price of Kabuli chana (loose) reached Rs 13,500 per quintal on the higher side in Indore while it remained stable at Rs 9000 per quintal on the lower side.
On the other hand, its price in Dewas jumped to Rs 11,000 per quintal on the lower side and increased to Rs 12,500 per quintal on the upper side.
The price of Kabuli chana in container also jumped to Rs. 15,200 per quintal for 40/42 count and to Rs. 14,800 per quintal for 44/46 count in Indore.
Thus, between the implementation of stock limit (20 June) and its removal (11 July), the difference (up) in the price of Kabuli chana in Indore was Rs. 500 on the lower side and Rs. 300 on the upper side. Similarly,
in Dewas, the price increased by Rs. 1000 on the lower side and Rs. 1600 on the upper side per quintal. During the same period, an increase of Rs. 1000-1000 per quintal was recorded in the price of Kabuli chana in container in Indore for 40/42 count as well as 44/46 count.
Between July 11 and July 30, 2024, there was no increase in the price of Kabuli chana in Indore at the lower level but a huge increase of Rs 2800 was registered at the upper level.
There also, the price of 40/42 count in the container increased by Rs 1900 and the price of 44/46 count increased by Rs 1700 per quintal.
