Groundnut Prices Improve Amidst Better Trading Activity in UP

New Delhi: Groundnut prices recorded an improvement of ₹100–200 per quintal in Jhansi, Mahoba, and Mauranipur in Uttar Pradesh (UP), driven by reduced supply pressure and a resurgence in demand from buyers. A rise of ₹20 was also observed in Solapur, Maharashtra, while prices remained stable in top-producing states such as Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Groundnut (Whole)
During the week of March 28 to April 3, groundnut prices remained stable at ₹8,000–9,000 per quintal in Rajkot (Gujarat) and ₹7,300 per quintal in Bikaner (Rajasthan). However, in Solapur, prices rose by ₹200 to reach ₹8,800 per quintal. In Uttar Pradesh, groundnut prices firmed up by ₹200 per quintal in both Jhansi and Mauranipur, and by ₹100 per quintal in Mahoba. Arrivals of stock remained limited across all markets.
Groundnut Kernels
Demand for shelled groundnut kernels remained sluggish among crushers, processors, and exporters. While prices remained stable in Bikaner, the rate for the 50/60 count variety declined by ₹400 in Solapur.
Groundnut Oil
Trading activity in loose groundnut oil also remained subdued; consequently, prices remained stable in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar (Gujarat), while softening by ₹20 per 10 kg in Ahmedabad. However, a slight uptick in groundnut oil prices was recorded in Bikaner and Newai/Tonk (Rajasthan), as well as in Hyderabad (Telangana).
Branded Oils
In Kota, the price of branded oil surged by ₹150 to reach ₹3,100 per tin (15 liters), while in Jaipur and Newai, a rise of ₹60 to ₹100 per 10 kg was recorded in the prices of filtered groundnut oil.
