Weekly Review – Mustard
Mustard Prices Rise Amidst Strong Demand
New Delhi: New mustard is arriving in robust quantities at key markets (mandis) across major producing states. Driven by heavy procurement from millers and traders, prices remain elevated and are trending upward. Farmers are, consequently, realizing better returns.
Record Arrivals
According to rough estimates, a record volume of approximately 1.9 million tonnes of mustard arrived at markets nationwide during the month of March. This clearly indicates that producers have secured attractive returns on their produce. Since wholesale market prices are currently trading above the Minimum Support Price (MSP), government agencies have found no opportunity to procure mustard.
