Lentil prices improve due to increased buying
Mumbai. Due to slow selling and increased demand, lentil prices saw a rise this week. The arrival of lentils in the producing markets has started weakening. Seeing the weak arrival, the activity of stockists and dal millers has started increasing, which can support the rising prices of lentils. Due to weak selling by importers and increased buying, Mumbai lentils registered an increase of Rs 50/75 per quintal this week and with this increase, the price at the weekend became Mundra Rs 6050, Hazira Rs 6075/6100 and container Rs 6250/6300 per quintal. Similarly, the prices of Kolkata lentils also increased by Rs 25 per quintal this week and the price at the weekend became Rs 6250/6300 per quintal.
Delhi
Due to increased buying by dal millers, Delhi lentil prices have improved by Rs. 25/50 per quintal this week and with this improvement, the weekend price of small Kota has become Rs. 6650, Bundi Rs. 6950, Uttar Pradesh Rs. 7000 and Desi Badi Rs. 6725 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to weak selling and increased buying, Madhya Pradesh lentil prices have increased by Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and the weekend price has become Ashoknagar Rs. 6000/6100, Ganjbasoda Rs. 5800/6200, Sagar Rs. 5800/6150, Damoh Rs. 5700/6250, Indore Rs. 6200 and Katni Rs. 6675/6700 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
Due to sluggish buying and selling, during the current week, the price of lentil in Uttar Pradesh fluctuated by Rs. 25/50 per quintal and the price at the weekend remained Bareilly small Rs. 7100/7150, thick Rs. 6650/6675, Kanpur Rs. 6525 and Lalitpur thick Rs. 6000/6075, small Rs. 6300/6325 per quintal.
Others
Due to better buying, the price of Bihar lentil rose by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the price at the weekend became Barh Rs. 6600, Khusrupur Rs. 6500 and Mokama Rs. 6600 per quintal. Similarly, Raipur lentil also rose by Rs. 25 per quintal this week and became Rs. 6300/6325 per quintal at the weekend.
Masoor Dal
Due to the support of the uptrend in Masoor and increased buying, the price of Masoor Dal has increased by 50/100 rupees per quintal this week and with this increase, the price at the weekend reached Jalgaon Rs. 7650, Indore Rs. 7500/7650, Barh Rs. 7600/7900 and Khusrupur Rs. 7500/7800 per quintal.
