Moong prices rise due to increased demand
New Delhi. Moong prices have increased during the current week due to weak selling and increased buying. This year, good sowing of moong has been done in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Currently, the condition of the crop is also very good due to favorable weather. The Madhya Pradesh government increased the government purchase limit of moong from 25 quintals to 40 quintals per farmer. Due to which the selling of moong remained weak and the rising prices got support. Due to increased buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices saw a rise of Rs 200 per quintal this week and the prices reached Rs 8400/8700 per quintal at the weekend.
Rajasthan
Due to weak selling and increase in buying, the price of moong in Rajasthan markets during the current week increased by Rs. 150/200 per quintal and the prices at the weekend became Jodhpur Rs. 6300/8000, Jaipur Rs. 7800/8700, Merta Rs. 8000/8500, Sumerpur Rs. 7000/8000, Nagaur Rs. 7300/8050 and Kishangarh Rs. 7500/8100 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increase in government purchase, the arrival of moong in producing markets remained weak. Due to weak arrival and increase in buying, prices of moong witnessed a good rise of Rs. 200/300 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Pipariya Rs. 6000/8100, Indore Rs. 8000/8200, Kareli Rs. 5500/8150, Jabalpur Rs. 6000/7600 and Khirkhia Rs. 8000/8300 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to sluggish demand, no rise or fall was seen in the prices of Karnataka moong during the current week and the prices remained stable at Gulbarga Rs. 7500/8500, Bidar Rs. 7501/7955 and Yadgir Rs. 7000/7600 per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish demand, there was no increase or decrease in the prices of moong in Maharashtra during the current week and at the end of the week, Latur remained at Rs. 8000/8500, Akola Rs. 7400/10550, Barshi Rs. 7000/8500, Jalgaon Rs. 8200/10200, Ahmednagar Rs. 7000/9500 and Washim Rs. 7100/7700 per quintal.
Others
Due to support of all round uptrend and better buying, the prices of moong in the markets of Uttar Pradesh increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the prices became Lalitpur Rs. 7500/7800, Konch Rs. 7200/7500 and Orai Rs. 7000/7850 per quintal. Similarly, during the current week, Punjab moong prices have registered an improvement of Rs 50/100 per quintal and the price reached Rs 7000/8100 per quintal at the end of the week.
Moong Dal
Due to the support of the rise in moong and increase in demand, the prices of moong dal have witnessed an increase of Rs 100 per quintal during the current week and the price reached Rs 10400/13200 at the end of the week. Delhi Rs 10400/13200, Jodhpur Rs 10400, Jaipur Rs 10400, Bhatapara Rs 9900/10400, Jalgaon Rs 10500 and Indore Rs 9600/10800 per quintal.
