Mixed trend in mustard prices according to demand and supply
New Delhi. There was a lot of fluctuation in the price of mustard during the week of 18-24 October on the basis of supply of goods in major mandis and demand of traders / millers.
42% condition mustard
The price of mustard with 42% condition fell by Rs 150 to Rs 6400 per quintal in Delhi, while it improved by Rs 50 to Rs 6675/6700 per quintal in Jaipur. Similarly, the price of average quality mustard fell by Rs 450 in Barwala Mandi of Haryana and Rs 200 in Hisar Mandi, while it was up by Rs 100 in Sirsa.
Madhya Pradesh
Mixed trend was seen in Morena, Porsa and Gwalior Mandi of Madhya Pradesh. The price softened by Rs 100 in Gwalior. Similarly, the price of mustard in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, fell by Rs 125 to Rs 6700/6750 per quintal, but in Agra it rose by Rs 75 to Rs 6800/7425 per quintal. In Kolkata, there was a decline of Rs 50.
Rajasthan
The most important producing state - In Rajasthan, the price of mustard rose by Rs 112 in Bharatpur and Rs 100 in Alwar, while in Bikaner it fell by Rs 200 to Rs 5300/5600. In other markets of the state, there was an improvement of Rs 25-50.
Mustard Oil
Like mustard, the price of mustard oil also showed a mixed trend. The price of expeller in Delhi fell by Rs 5, in Charkhi Dadri by Rs 8, in Ludhiana by Rs 10 and in Kota by Rs 6 per 10 kg. In Hapur, the price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil fell by Rs 40 to Rs 1450/1480 per 10 kg, but in Ganganagar it improved by Rs 20 to Rs 1355.
Arrival
Arrival of mustard was 1.50 lakh bags on 18 October and 1.25 lakh bags on 19 October, while it increased to 3.50-3.50 lakh bags on 21 and 22 October. After this, 3-3 lakh bags of mustard arrived on 23 and 24 October. Each mustard sack weighs 50 kg.
Mustard Cake
The price of mustard cake remained soft in Delhi and other markets during the week under review. In Delhi, it fell by Rs 80 to Rs 150 per quintal.
