Strong Arrival of New Stock Continues - Prices Rise in Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi. Arrivals of new Kharif peanuts have begun to increase rapidly in Gujarat and other major producing states, including Uttar Pradesh (UP). Traders and millers are showing significant interest in purchasing, leading to a steady or steady price increase. Government procurement of peanuts in Gujarat may also provide support to the market.
Arrivals
According to available data, during the week of October 25-31, daily peanut arrivals increased to 45,000 bags in Gondal Mandi, Gujarat, and 25,000 bags in Rajkot. However, amid normal trading, prices remained at previous levels of Rs. 4,500/6,250 per quintal and Rs. 4,000/6,000 per quintal, respectively.
Rajasthan
In Bikaner, Rajasthan, the price level remained unchanged at Rs 5,200 per quintal, but in Solapur, Maharashtra, it improved by Rs 100 to Rs 6,400 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
Despite the highest arrival of 19,500 bags in Jhansi market, Uttar Pradesh, the price of peanuts increased by Rs 200 to Rs 4,400/5,200 per quintal due to good buying. However, prices remained stable at Rs 4,500/5,200 per quintal in Mahoba and Rs 4,000/5,500 per quintal in Mauranipur. Arrivals of peanuts have begun to increase in Mahoba and Mauranipur.
Groundnut Seeds
Despite expectations of resumption of exports to Indonesia, trading in shelled peanut seeds remained limited during the week under review, with prices remaining stable or softening. In Nagpur, Maharashtra, the price of 50/60 count grains fell by Rs. 200 to Rs. 10,300 per quintal, while the price of 60/70 count increased by Rs. 100 to Rs. 9,900 per quintal.
Groundnut Oil
Loose demand for groundnut oil remained stable at Rs. 1,375 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar, but increased by Rs. 60 to Rs. 1,370/1,380 per 10 kg in Ahmedabad. Prices improved by Rs. 20 each in Bikaner and Tonk/Newai.
Branded Oil
Branded groundnut oil remained stable at Rs. 2,300 per tin (15 liters) in Kota, while filtered groundnut oil prices increased by Rs. 20-25 per 10 kg in Jaipur and Newai.
