Pea prices fall due to increased selling pressure

Kanpur. The government's decision to extend the time limit for duty-free import of yellow peas is having a direct impact on the domestic markets. After this decision, selling pressure has increased in the market due to the possibility of increased availability of peas. Due to this selling pressure and weak buying, pea prices fell during the current week. According to traders, due to the increase in the import period, stockists have started rapid profit booking, due to which there is a sluggish atmosphere in the market. Due to increased selling pressure from importers and sluggish buying, imported peas witnessed a decline of Rs 75/100 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Mumbai Canada Rs 3600, Russia Rs 3450 and currency Canada Rs 3400 and Russia Rs 3300 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kolkata peas also declined by Rs 75 per quintal this week and remained at Canada Rs 3850 and Russia Rs 3750 per quintal at the weekend. Due to sluggish demand, Kanpur peas witnessed a decline of Rs 75 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs 3650/3675 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur peas also witnessed a decline of Rs 150 per quintal this week and the prices remained at Rs 3200/3400 per quintal at the weekend. Due to lack of demand, the prices fell by Rs 200 in Rath and Rs 100 per quintal in Mahoba, and at the end of the weekend the prices remained at Rs 3000/3200 in Rath and Rs 3400/3700 ​​per quintal in Mahoba. Similarly, Jalaun peas also fell by Rs 100 and Konch by Rs 150 per quintal, and at the weekend they remained at Rs 3250 in Jalaun and Rs 3100/3200 per quintal in Konch. Due to weak demand, a decline of Rs 175/200 per quintal was witnessed in the prices of peas in Madhya Pradesh this week and with this decline the prices remained at Rs 3250/3275 in Damoh and Rs 3000/3250 per quintal at the weekend.
