Strong Demand Drives Up Soybean Plant Delivery Prices

New Delhi. Driven by strong demand from crushing and processing units, the upward trend in soybean plant delivery prices continued during the week of January 10-16, remaining above Rs. 5000 per quintal in all three top producing states – Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. In some places, the price even exceeded the government's Minimum Support Price (MSP).
MSP
The Minimum Support Price for soybeans for the current marketing season of 2025-26 has been fixed at Rs. 5328 per quintal, while the price at some plants reached Rs. 5400-5500 per quintal. At one unit in Kota, it even crossed the Rs. 5600 per quintal mark. Notably, the purchase of soybeans from farmers at the support price continues in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
Soybean Refined Oil
With soybean prices rising by Rs. 100-200 per quintal, the prices of refined soybean oil also increased by Rs. 2-3 per kg. Prices remained firm in all three states. Soybean oil prices also rose internationally. The price of refined soybean oil increased by Rs. 35 each in Kota and Haldia, reaching Rs. 1350 and Rs. 1310 per 10 kg respectively, while in Mumbai it improved by Rs. 20 to Rs. 1300 and in Kandla it jumped by Rs. 40 to Rs. 1330 per 10 kg.
Arrivals
During the week under review, the daily arrivals of soybeans in major markets across India were recorded at 3.85 lakh bags on January 12, 3.80 lakh bags on January 13, 1.10 lakh bags on January 14, 2.00 lakh bags on January 15, and 2.00 lakh bags on January 16.
Soybean Meal (DOC)
Due to improved domestic demand, soybean DOC prices in Maharashtra increased by ₹500-1000 per ton. Soybean meal is seeing good demand from the poultry industry, while export performance remains largely stable. Soybean prices are expected to remain firm.
