Good increase in Tuvar prices due to better demand
Mumbai. Due to weak availability and better demand, good increase was recorded in Tuvar prices during the current week. The rising prices of Tuvar got support due to the slowdown in selling by stockists at reduced prices and the increased activity of dal millers. Due to weak selling by exporters and strong buying by importers, Chennai Tuvar Lemon registered a strong jump of Rs. 650 per quintal this week and with this jump the prices reached Rs. 9600/9700 per quintal. Whereas no movement was seen in Mumbai African Tuvar this week and the prices remained stable at Mozambique White Rs. 7500/7600, Gajari Rs. 7450/7500, Malawi Rs. 7100, Dodomo Rs. 7150 and Sudan Rs. 10200/10300 per quintal at the end of the week. Burma
Due to better export demand, Burma Tuvar witnessed a rise of $ 50 per ton this week and with this rise, the price reached $ 1100 per ton at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to non-availability of goods in the spot market and better buying by stockists and dal millers, during the current week, Delhi Tuvar Lemon witnessed a good rise of Rs 600 and Desi Tuvar also saw a good rise of Rs 600 per quintal and with this rise, the price reached Rs 10150 for Lemon, Rs 10600 for Maharashtra Line and Rs 10700 for Karnataka Line per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to weakening of selling by stockists and increase in buying by dal millers, Maharashtra tuvar prices registered a rise of Rs. 500/800 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend became Solapur Rs. 9100/10500, Akola Rs. 10300/10600, Nagpur Rs. 10400/10600, Latur Rs. 10500/11000 and Ahmednagar Rs. 10000/10200 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to strong demand, Karnataka tuvar prices registered a rise of Rs. 500 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Gulbarga Rs. 10800/11400 and Yadgir Rs. 10500.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to better demand from dal millers, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 500/700 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend reached Rs. 10950/11050 for Katni, Rs. 6000/8000 for Jabalpur, Rs. 8500/9000 for Pipariya and Rs. 7700/9868 per quintal for Kareli.
Others
Due to support from all round rise and demand, Raipur tuvar witnessed a rise of Rs. 400 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend reached Rs. 10400/10700 per quintal. Similarly, Kanpur tuvar also rose by Rs. 200 per quintal during the current week and reached Rs. 500 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to increased buying in support of the rise in Tuvar prices, the prices of Tuvar Dal have increased by Rs. 200/500 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices at the weekend reached Delhi Fatka Rs. 14800/15800, Katni Fatka Rs. 14450/14650, Akola Rs. 14800/16000, Latur Fatka Rs. 15900/16100, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 15100/15900 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 14300/14700 per quintal.
