China–Canada Visit Update

Regarding the Canadian Prime Minister’s visit to China, some media outlets and messaging services are suggesting that agreements have already been finalized. However, there is no official confirmation of any such agreement at this stage.

The current reality is that Canada has only proposed certain policy changes to China. It cannot be said that these proposals have been accepted or that any final agreement has been reached.

Importantly, there has been no official announcement regarding tariff relaxation on canola, peas, or any other agricultural commodities.

Market participants are therefore advised not to rely on unverified news and to act with caution until clear and official information is released.

Even if an agreement is eventually reached, it is widely believed that such a development would also support and strengthen the Indian markets.
