ICE cotton futures for most 2026/27 crop contracts fell by the 4-cent limit, while other contracts declined by 182 to 275 points. Crude oil prices fell by $3.66 per barrel during the session, while the US Dollar Index rose by 0.214 points.
Weekly Crop Progress data showed that 70% of the US cotton crop had reached the boll-opening stage as of Sunday. Harvest was 17% complete, running 2 percentage points ahead of the normal pace. Crop conditions were rated at 35% good to excellent, up 1 percentage point from the previous week. The Brugler500 index declined by 1 point to 294.
According to The Seam, only 2,657 bales were sold on September 28 at an average price of 83.90 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell 50 points on September 28 to 93.25 cents per pound. ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on Monday at 28,064 bales. The Adjusted World Price declined by 283 points last week to 66.09 cents per pound.
