Excise Duty on Fuel Hiked by Rs. 2/Litre
★ Government Increases Excise Duty on Petrol and Diesel by Rs. 2 per Litre.
★ This hike will be effective from Tuesday.
★ Petrol excise duty will increase from Rs. 19.90 to Rs. 21.90 per litre, and diesel duty will go up from Rs. 15.80 to Rs. 17.80 per litre.
★ Oil companies may absorb this increase themselves, so that the general public is not affected.
★ The price of crude oil has dropped from $70 per barrel to $63 per barrel, increasing profit margins for oil companies.
