International Wheat Market
According to various state crop progress reports, Kansas (KS) winter wheat rating stood at 49% good/excellent (gd/ex), marking a 1% increase, while the Brugler500 index rose by 3 points to reach 334. In Texas (TX), wheat ratings improved by 3% to 31% gd/ex, with the Brugler500 index gaining 5 points to reach 288.
As per the export inspection report (FGIS), a total of 484,701 metric tons (17.81 crore bushels) of wheat were shipped in the week ending March 20. This was 2.11% lower than the previous week but 12% higher than the same period last year. Of the total shipments, 85,183 metric tons were sent to the Philippines, while 71,933 metric tons were shipped to Mexico.
So far in the marketing year (since June 1, 2024), total shipments have reached 16.854 million metric tons (619.3 million bushels), reflecting a 17.99% increase compared to the same period last year.
Taiwan has issued a tender for purchasing 100,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat, with a deadline set for Thursday.
Meanwhile, Russian company IKAR raised its 2025 wheat production estimate by 1.5 million metric tons to 82.5 million metric tons on Monday.
