Kharif 2025 Sowing Analysis – Groundnut
★ Overall increase in sowing; significant rise in Gujarat and Rajasthan, while Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka see a decline
★ According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, and various state agriculture departments, groundnut sowing across the country reached 38.01 lakh hectares as of 18 July 2025, compared to 37.16 lakh hectares at the same time last year – an increase of 0.85 lakh hectares.

Sowing status in major states:
★ Gujarat (as of 21 July 2025): Sowing stood at 19.42 lakh hectares, up from 18.28 lakh hectares last year – an increase of 1.14 lakh hectares.
★ Rajasthan (as of 25 July 2025): Sowing was 9.41 lakh hectares, compared to 8.07 lakh hectares last year – an increase of 1.34 lakh hectares.
★ Andhra Pradesh (as of 23 July 2025): Sowing dropped to 0.81 lakh hectares from 1.64 lakh hectares last year – a decline of 0.83 lakh hectares.
★ Karnataka (as of 18 July 2025): Sowing reached 1.34 lakh hectares, down from 1.78 lakh hectares in 2024 – a decline of 0.44 lakh hectares.
★ Maharashtra (as of 21 July 2025): Sowing stood at 1.08 lakh hectares this year, down from 1.34 lakh hectares last year – a fall of 0.26 lakh hectares.
★ In total, these five states have sown 32.06 lakh hectares, which is 0.95 lakh hectares more than last year’s 31.11 lakh hectares.
