New Delhi. The southwest monsoon, which arrived in Kerala two days before the scheduled date, is now moving ahead and entering northern India,
which is expected to help farmers in increasing the pace of sowing of Kharif crops. After Bengal-Bihar, now monsoon rains are occurring in most of the districts of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, monsoon has already become active in Maharashtra,
Gujarat, Odisha and Chhattisgarh, while regular rains are occurring in various parts of southern states - Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Good rains are also being reported in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram,
Tripura, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim of Northeast India. But when heavy rains start in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, then cultivation of paddy, pulses, oilseeds, coarse grains and cotton will start happening at a fast pace in the entire country.
It was expected that the monsoon conditions would be normal in June and there would be heavy rainfall in many states of the country.
Usually by July 8, the monsoon covers the entire country and looking at the pace of this year, it seems that by the first week of July,
the monsoon will reach the last western end of Rajasthan. But the fact is that it may take time to reach all parts of many states.
Heavy rains are occurring in many districts of Bihar, while there are many districts where severe heat and heat wave are continuing.
The same situation is in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Apart from this, in states like Telangana, there is news of monsoon becoming inactive after one month.
