★ खाद्य मंत्री ने आगामी सीजन में चीनी उत्पादन बढ़ने की उम्मीद जताई और कहा कि अगर मानसून अच्छा रहा तो गन्ना का उत्पादन बढ़ सकता है।
★ कल दिल्ली में आयोजित ग्लोबल कांफ्रेंस में कहा गया कि गत वर्ष से अधिक हो सकता है गन्ना का उत्पादन।
★ आयात खोले जाने के सवाल का जवाब देते हुए कहा गया कि पहले देखना होगा कि मानसून व उत्पादन कैसा होता है।
★ खाद्य सचिव ने कहा कि 2024-25 सीजन के दौरान पश्चिमी भारत में बे-मौसमी बरसात से गन्ना उत्पादन बढ़ा जिससे चीनी के उत्पादन में उम्मीद से अधिक बढ़ोत्तरी देखी गयी।
★ अतिरिक्त चीनी का इस्तमाल एथनोल बनाने में किया जा सकता है।
★ सचिव ने कहा कि चालू सीजन में मई के अंत तक ब्लेंडिंग 12.5% पहुंची।
★ 50% एथनोल का उत्पादन अनाजों द्वारा किया जा रहा है जिसमें मुख्यतः मक्का शामिल है।
★ आई ग्रेन इंडिया का मनना है कि निर्यात खोलने के बजाए सरकार सरप्लस में पड़ी चीनी का इस्तमाल एथनोल उत्पादन में कर सकती है।
