Possibility of torrential rain in 40 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 20 districts of Bihar

New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rain in 40 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 20 districts of Bihar. The rainy season has already begun in many districts.
The outbreak of severe heat and 'loo' is expected to continue in Bihar. Help will be received on the night of 22 June. People are getting relief from the scorching heat due to the beginning of the rainy season in many districts including Moradabad division.
According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon has entered Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and its good activity may remain in the coming days. The districts of Uttar Pradesh for which the Meteorological Department had issued an alert for heavy rains included Bahraich, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Balrampur, Gonda, Shravasti, Maharajganj, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Khushinagar,
orakhpur, Deoria, Ghazipur, Ballia, Varanasi, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Mau, Sonbhadra, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Chitkut, Fatehpur, Banda, Kanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Auraiya, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Etawah, Firozabad, Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Rampur, Bijnor, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Hathras and Agra.
The Meteorological Department had said last week that from June 23, there could be a strong increase in the intensity, movement and covering area of monsoon rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh, while from June 24, heavy rains are expected in the Terai region of the Northeast and some districts of Purvanchal. Similarly,
the activity of monsoon will increase in western Uttar Pradesh from 25 June. The period of rain started in Lucknow from 23 June itself.
Good rain is expected in the entire state going forward. Along with this, cultivation of other Kharif crops including paddy will start gaining momentum in Uttar Pradesh.
