Procurement of Pulses under Minimum Support Price (MSP)
★ The procurement of Tur (Arhar) is ongoing in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana through NAFED and NCCF.
★ The government is procuring 100% of Tur from farmers through central nodal agencies.
★ In Karnataka, the procurement period has been extended from 90 days to May 1, 2025.
★ As of March 25, 2025, a total of 2.46 lakh metric tons of Tur have been procured in the five states.
★ Approval has been granted for the procurement of Chana, Mustard, and Masoor under RMS 2025.
★ The government is committed to achieving self-reliance in pulses. By 2028-29, the government aims to procure 100% of Tur, Urad, and Masoor produced in the states over the next four years.
