🚨 Farmers Suffer Losses Across 13 Districts 🚜
Recent heavy rains and storms in Telangana have damaged Rabi crops across 11,300 acres in 64 mandals of 13 districts. The final damage report will be prepared after a detailed survey.
🔹 Estimated Crop Damage (Preliminary Report):
🌾 Paddy – 6,670 acres affected
🌽 Maize – 4,100 acres damaged
🥭 Mango – 309 acres lost
📌 Government’s Response:
✔️ Telangana Agriculture Minister has ordered an urgent survey of the affected areas.
✔️ Compensation process to begin once the final report is ready.
📢 Farmers Demand Immediate Relief!
The Telangana Raitu Sangham has urged the government to speed up compensation.
⚠️ Worst-Hit Areas:
📍 Northern Telangana faced the maximum damage due to storms.
📍 Harvested paddy left in fields got soaked, and maize crops were destroyed.
📍 Mango and vegetable crops also suffered heavy losses.
❗ Farmers Still Waiting for Kharif Compensation!
During the Kharif season, about 5 lakh acres of crops were damaged. The government had promised ₹10,000 per acre compensation, but only ₹15.80 crore was distributed for just 1.5 lakh acres.
