★ Other SEA members said that the availability of rice bran in the country is gradually declining. Lower rainfall in South India has also reduced paddy availability.
★ Across India, the rice bran oil industry is not operating at full capacity. The industry is facing difficulties due to different GST rules, and input tax credit has also not been received.
★ Crude oil should be used more in edible oils rather than in non-edible oils.
★ The availability of rice bran in North India, particularly in Punjab and Haryana, has also declined. Rainfall during the previous season had affected production.
★ The arrival of new-season paddy has started in North Indian mandis. The industry will need to make efforts to utilize its full capacity so that the profitability of mills can improve.
