Ukraine exports 495 lakh tonnes of grains and pulses in the current season

Kiev. In the current marketing season of 2023-24, till June 21, 2024, a total of 495.40 lakh tonnes of grains and pulses were exported from Ukraine, a neighboring country of Russia located in the Black Sea region, which was 2.3 percent more than the 2022-23 season.
According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, till June 2024, 26.08 lakh tonnes of grains and pulses have been shipped so far, which is less than the shipment of 30.87 lakh tonnes during this period last year.
From July 1, 2023 to June 21, 2024, 181.23 lakh tonnes of wheat, 24.61 lakh tonnes of barley, 16 lakh tonnes of rye and 284.16 lakh tonnes of maize were exported from Ukraine.
During the first 21 days of June, 6.86 lakh tonnes of wheat, 75 thousand tonnes of barley and 13.66 lakh tonnes of maize were exported from there. Apart from this, about 97 thousand tonnes of flour was also exported from Ukraine in the marketing season of 2023-24, which was 36 percent less than last year.
In June 2024, its quantity could reach only 4200 tonnes, last year it was shipped in good quantity from there. It is noteworthy that along with peas and lentils, sunflower and its oil and rapeseed-canola are also exported on a large scale from Ukraine.
