Gram prices rise due to better demand
Gram Prices Strengthen Amid Improved Demand
Gram prices witnessed an uptrend this week due to weaker selling pressure and stronger demand from dal millers and stockists.
Arrival pressure was muted in major producing markets due to the festive season.
The central government is expected to procure 27 lakh tonnes of gram for buffer stocks, with an additional 5.46 lakh tonnes from Rajasthan under consideration.
Delhi Market
Due to strong demand from dal millers, gram prices in Delhi increased by ₹200 per quintal:
Madhya Pradesh line: ₹5,525-5,550 per quintal.
Rajasthan line: ₹5,625-5,650 per quintal.
Port Market (Imported Gram)
Mumbai Port:
Tanzania Gram rose by ₹175, reaching ₹5,350-5,375 per quintal.
Australia Gram surged by ₹225, with prices at ₹5,525-5,550 (Nava Sheva) and ₹5,500-5,525 (Mundra).
Rajasthan Market
Pulses millers & stockists increased buying, leading to a price rise of ₹100-200 per quintal:
Jodhpur: ₹4,500-4,950
Jaipur: ₹5,550-5,575
Bikaner: ₹5,000-5,250
Kishangarh: ₹5,050-5,150
Kota: ₹5,000-5,150
Maharashtra Market
Prices increased by ₹150-300 per quintal due to reduced arrivals and stronger demand:
Solapur: ₹5,300-5,750
Akola: ₹5,650-5,750
Nagpur: ₹5,725-5,750
Udgir: ₹5,100-5,500
Ahmednagar: ₹5,350-5,550
Madhya Pradesh Market
Better demand pushed prices up by ₹150-300 per quintal:
