Moong prices soften due to slow buying
New Delhi. Moong prices softened during the current week due to increased selling at higher prices and slow buying. Moong sowing is going on at a fast pace due to good monsoon rains in Karnataka and Maharashtra. At present, the weather remains favorable for the crop. This year, the sowing area of moong may be more than last year. This week, the MSP of Kharif crop moong was increased by Rs 124 per quintal to Rs 8682 per quintal by the government. Due to normal buying by dal millers, there was no rise or fall in the prices of Delhi moong this week and the price remained stable at Rs 8000/8550 per quintal at the weekend. Rajasthan
Due to normal demand, there was no increase or decrease in the price of moong in Rajasthan mandis during the current week and the prices remained stable at Jodhpur 6400/8000 rupees, Jaipur 7500/8300 rupees, Merta 8000/8500 rupees, Sumerpur 7000/8000 rupees, Nagaur 7500/8100 rupees and Kishangarh 7000/7500 rupees per quintal during the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
At present, there is a good arrival of moong in the producing mandis. Due to sluggish demand on increased prices, prices of moong have fallen by Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Pipariya Rs. 7000/7900, Indore Rs. 7900/8000, Kareli Rs. 5700/7800, Jabalpur Rs. 6000/7500 and Khirkhia Rs. 7900/8200 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to sluggish demand, prices of Karnataka moong have fallen by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Gulbarga Rs. 7500/8500, Bidar Rs. 7501/7955 and Yadgir Rs. 7000/7600 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to continued selling and weak buying, prices of Maharashtra moong declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Latur Rs. 8000/8500, Akola Rs. 7400/10550, Barshi Rs. 7000/8500, Jalgaon Rs. 8100/10800, Ahmednagar Rs. 7000/9500 and Washim Rs. 7200/7600 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, prices of moong in the producing markets of Uttar Pradesh declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and prices remained at Lalitpur Rs. 7300/7650, Konch Rs. 7200/7500 and Jalaun Rs. 7150/7450 per quintal. Similarly, prices of Punjab moong also witnessed a fall of Rs. 100/150 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs. 7950/8050 per quintal at the weekend.
Moong Dal
Due to normal demand, no rise or fall was seen in the prices of moong dal during the current week and the price remained stable at Delhi Rs. 10450/13400, Jodhpur Rs. 10600, Jalgaon Rs. 10500 and Indore Rs. 9600/10600 per quintal at the weekend.
