Prices weak in Gujarat and Haryana - slightly strong in Rajasthan
New Delhi. Mixed trend was seen in the price of mustard during the week of 14-20 June. Its price remained quite soft in the markets of Gujarat and Haryana, while it improved in Rajasthan. Due to limited business in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, prices remained almost stable.
42% condition mustard
The price of mustard with 42 percent condition (oil removed) remained at the previous level of Rs 6000 per quintal in Delhi, while in Jaipur it increased by Rs 100 to Rs 6125/6150 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the price of mustard was recorded at Rs 6450/6500 in Agra Mandi and Rs 6150 per quintal in Hapur Mandi. No significant fluctuation was seen in the price of mustard in Morena, Porsa and Gwalior Mandi of Madhya Pradesh.
Gujarat
In Gujarat's Deesa market, the price of mustard fell by Rs 260 to Rs 5200/5325 per quintal and in Dhanera it fell by Rs 135 to Rs 5100/5450 per quintal. Similarly, in Haryana, during the week under review, the price of mustard fell by Rs 100 in Barwala, Rs 200 in Hisar and Rs 20 in Charkhi Dadri, but increased by Rs 39 in Adampur. In Sirsa, the price remained stable at Rs 5400/5700 per quintal.
Rajasthan
As far as the most prominent producing state - Rajasthan is concerned, there was a general increase of Rs 25-50 in the prices of mustard during the week of June 14-20. Although, the price in Ganganagar fell by Rs 50 to Rs 5550 per quintal, but in Alwar and Khairthal it improved by Rs 50 each to reach Rs 5850 and Rs 5800 per quintal respectively.
Mustard Oil
The price of mustard oil generally remained stable or slightly softened, but the price of expeller in Bikaner increased by Rs 20 to reach Rs 1150 per 10 kg. On the other hand, in Alwar and Kolkata it fell by Rs 10 each to reach Rs 1140 and Rs 1220 per 10 kg respectively. In Delhi, the price of expeller remained stable at Rs 1150 per 10 kg.
Arrival
In the markets of major producing states, 5.50 lakh bags of mustard arrived on 14th June, 5 lakh bags on 15th June, 4 lakh bags on 17th June, 5 lakh bags on 18th June, 5 lakh bags on 19th June and 5.25 lakh bags on 20th June. Each bag weighs 50 kg.
