Pea prices improve due to increased activity of stockists

Kanpur. Pea prices remained bullish during the current week due to weak selling at low prices and increased buying. Rising pea prices got support due to increased activity of stockists and millers supported by the rise in gram prices. Pressure on prices can be seen due to extension of duty free pea import deadline and increased availability in the domestic market. Due to weak selling by importers and improvement in demand, imported pea prices improved by Rs 100 per quintal this week and with this improvement the prices became Mumbai Canada Rs 3650/3675 Russia Rs 3500/3525 and currency Canada Rs 3475/3500 and Russia Rs 3375/3400 per quintal. With the support of the rise in imported peas and increased buying by stockists, Kanpur peas prices registered a rise of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and the price reached Rs. 3625/3650 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur peas also increased by Rs. 100/150 per quintal and the price reached Rs. 3200/3450 per quintal at the weekend. Due to increased demand, Rath peas also increased by Rs. 100/150 per quintal this week and the price reached Rs. 3200/3300 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mauranipur peas also increased by Rs. 125 per quintal and the price reached Rs. 3300/3400 per quintal at the weekend. Due to better buying, Orai peas registered a rise of Rs. 200 per quintal this week and with this rise, the price reached Rs. 3200/3400 per quintal at the weekend. Due to support of all round uptrend and buying, prices of peas in Madhya Pradesh rose by 100/125 rupees per quintal this week and at the weekend prices reached 3200/3350 rupees in Damoh and 3100/3300 rupees per quintal in Bina.

Due to sluggish demand, no increase or decrease was seen in the prices of peas during the current week and at the weekend prices remained 4300/4350 rupees in Kanpur and 4400/4450 rupees per quintal in Indore.
