As of June 29, 8% of the U.S. corn crop had reached the silking stage, ahead of the 6% average pace. Crop condition ratings improved by 3 percentage points to 73% good to excellent, while the Brugler500 index rose 6 points to 382.
According to USDA’s quarterly Grain Stocks report, corn stocks as of June 1 stood at 4.643 billion bushels—slightly above trade expectations but 354 million bushels lower than last year. The annual Acreage report indicated that U.S. farmers planted 95.203 million acres of corn this spring, 123,000 acres below the March Intentions and 204,000 acres under estimates.
For the week ending June 26, corn export inspections totaled 1.37 million metric tons (53.93 million bushels), down 8.92% from the previous week and 64.81% lower than the same week in 2024. Shipments included 335,221 MT to Mexico, 229,872 MT to Japan, and 209,887 MT to South Korea. Marketing year exports now total 54.944 MMT (2.163 billion bushels), 29.28% higher year-over-year.
AgRural estimated Brazil’s corn crop at 130.6 MMT, up 1.9 MMT from the previous forecast, entirely due to a larger second crop.
