Monsoon Likely to Reach Maharashtra and Telangana in the Next 5 Days

Thiruvananthapuram: The flow of dry westerly winds across the international border—originating from northern and northwestern India—has obstructed the monsoon's northward progression from the Bay of Bengal.
This has caused the monsoon's advance to stall. However, the strength and intensity of these dry westerly winds are gradually diminishing, paving the way for the monsoon to advance towards the west coast next week.
According to the Meteorological Department, the northern limit of the monsoon has remained stationary for a week. It currently extends from Harnai and Solapur in Maharashtra; Hyderabad, Bhadradri, and Kothagudem in Telangana; Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh; Paradip and Baripada in Odisha; Churulia in West Bengal; and Dhanbad in Jharkhand to Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
Conditions are expected to become favorable for the monsoon's advance over the next four to five days, potentially leading to active monsoon conditions across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and parts of southern Chhattisgarh. Good rainfall is anticipated in these regions as a result.
