NASS Crop Progress data showed that 93% of the U.S. soybean crop had emerged by June 21, which is 3 percentage points ahead of normal. Crop conditions remained steady at 66% good-to-excellent, while the Brugler500 Index rose by 1 point to 369.
The weekly Export Inspections report showed soybean shipments of 241,045 MT (8.86 million bushels) during the week ending June 18. This was 54.8% higher than the previous week but 54.8% lower than the same week last year. Mexico was the leading destination, followed by China and Indonesia. Total soybean shipments for the current marketing year reached 36.85 MMT (1.354 billion bushels), approximately 19.3% below the same period a year ago.
CFTC data showed speculative funds reduced their net long position by 37,938 contracts in the week ending June 16, leaving a net long position of 52,818 contracts.
NOAA’s 7-day forecast indicates limited rainfall across parts of Nebraska, Iowa, northern Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. In contrast, the Dakotas through Kansas are expected to receive 1–2 inches of rainfall, with heavier precipitation forecast for Missouri.
