Hyderabad. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in several districts of Telangana until April 17.

The warning follows accurate predictions of a storm in Bhadradri, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Bhupalapalli, Suryapet, Madadi, Jangaon, and parts of Warangal on April 15.

The sky is expected to remain cloudy in Hyderabad until April 18, with morning fog likely between April 16 and 18. On April 15, light rain and thundershowers were reported in various areas.

At present, Rabi crop harvesting is underway in Telangana, including paddy and other crops. The stormy weather may damage standing crops, although late-sown fields could benefit from the rainfall. Increased soil moisture could also support early sowing of the upcoming season's crops.

Telangana is a major producer of spices like red chilli and turmeric, especially in regions such as Nizamabad, Warangal, and Khammam.

Bad weather may affect farmers' ability to transport and sell their produce in local markets. Authorities have advised residents and farmers to remain cautious.
